So, I think this is an electronic/dancehall/dub remake/reversioning of Deee-Lite's "What Is Love?" single. At the very least, I'm relatively sure it was very inspired by that track. Here's the evidence: There are a few repeating melodic motifs in "What Is Dub?" that are very reminiscent of some of the main motifs in "What Is Love?"—though, that being said, it's not exact. It's just very similar, and transposed into a different synth sound. Obviously, the titles "What Is Love?" and "What Is Dub?" are very similar, that's a given. "What Is Love?" came out in 1990, "What Is Dub?" in 1991. There's even a remix of the Moody Boys/Screamer track called "What Is Dub? (Delightful Mix)". In any case, it's a shame they didn't copy edit this remix 12" before pressing it—it's totally ridiculous to misspell Apollo 440 throughout the entire release, including in huge type on the cover. These mixes are pretty solid throughout—even B2, which you have to play in reverse to hear properly. I think I actually like the reversed mix the best of the four, though the KLF one is pretty great, as well.
I can reverse track 4 if you want to add that to the download?
